In collaboration with Wojciech Czerwinski and Paweł Parys from the University of Warsaw, Wim Martens and Matthias Niewerth solved the long standing open problem of tree pattern minimization. The full paper will be published in the Journal of the ACM. The Journal of the ACM only publishes the most significant work on principles of Computer Science. To be accepted, a paper must be judged to be truly outstanding in its field.
