It turns out that EDBT / ICDT 2020 was possibly the first conference in computer science that was held "live" and virtually, due to Covid-19. The conference organization (which includes Wim Martens as ICDT Council Chair) had to put in a lot of extra hours to transition the event from a physical one to a virtual one within a month of time.
